The Gardening Club made a visit to the gardens at Sezincote on Thursday 13 July.

Members had teamed up to minimise the number of cars and we made our way for an 11.30 rendezvous near Moreton-In-Marsh. In spite of it raining heavily on the drive over the weather dried up as we arrived. Fortunately it remained this way for the whole of our visit.

The gardens looked magnificent, having been blessed by both recent warmth and rain. The valley, with its stream running down and lakes, was very lush.

Near the house they have now created a large wildflower area with fruit trees.  This was in full bloom. It shows how modern trends in planting can help wildlife as the area teamed with bees and butterflies.

After their walk, members had tea and cake in the Orangery overlooking the more formal lawns next to the house.
