Members turned out in force for the Gardening Club’s annual social event on Monday 11 December. 
As well as mulled wine and a soft cocktail, a selection of ‘plant based nibbles’ prepared by members were on offer. From quiche to carrot cake and guacamole croustade to brownies, these delicious tasters were soon devoured.
To entertain us, Suzy and Sybil has prepared a ‘brain stretching’ gardening quiz. Groups worked together to unravel anagrams, answers history question, name the plants in the table decorations, identify bulbs and pour over a range of photos. We were glad of the food and drink to keep us going.
In spite of the challenge of the quiz the results for top spot were close, three tables being separated by 2 points! The winners and runners up walked away happy with their chocolate Santa prizes.
Those who still had space were then treated to a slice of Lauren excellent Victoria sponge cake. A great end to the evening.
