On a very rainy Monday evening a dedicated group of Gardening Club members turned out at the St James’ Centre for Chris Day.

Chris Day is a professional horticulturalist who is keen to share his passion for gardening. He has worked in commercial horticulture, garden centre retailing and worked on, written for and edited consumer gardening magazines, including Amateur Gardening and Garden Ideas, Chris speaks to gardening clubs far and wide and in his role at Buckingham Garden Centre hosts and co-produces a twice monthly pod cast called Dig It.

For Chris it was a return visit to Stonesfield as he has spoken to Stonesfield before on other topics. This time Chris was extolling the virtues of house plants and brought a magnificent display to illustrate his talk. In an hour he covered a wide range of popular and less well known houseplants. As well as discussing their characteristics and benefits he told us how to care for them with lots of tips on watering and feeding.
