On 10 November we had a talk, Planting pots for winter interest, and demonstration from Harriet Rycroft. Harriet has talked to the Gardening Club before, once via Zoom during COVID and then more recently.
Harriet’s talk was illustrated with wonderful photographs of her time at Wychwood Pottery and from her garden. She showed how her pots survived and flourished through snow and drought. It is difficult to imagine how she plants and maintains the 700+ pots (she only admitted to 500 on TV in Gardeners World) in her courtyard because they looked so magnificent.
Harriet ended with a demonstration planting of one medium sized pot… 40 bulbs, 5 plants and a small yew! We were all amazed and determined to be braver in our potting.
